1. Balance: Visual weight of objects, colors, textures and space.

2. Symmetric Balance: Equal weight division throughout a composition.

3. Asymmetric Balance: Unequal weight division on a composition

4. Emphasis: An element which is used in a composition to draw the viewers attention to a specific spot.

5. Movement: Path the viewers eye takes through an artwork to a probable focal point.

6. Rhythm: Equal movement (eg: through patterns) throughout a composition.

7. Unity: A composition that gives a sense of wholeness.

8. Harmony: combination of similar or related elements.
