Reflection on FA Design Environment

Design Environment was an interesting part of our learning so far. It was compelling to see how the theoretical aspect of design was taught to us in such a thoughtful way. I was fairy satisfied with my assessment considering how I feel I could have done better in my Essence of color project. However, I feel the taught tools helped gather a good understanding of the subject at hand. Furthermore, I could make interconnections across all projects and I thoroughly enjoyed the documentation part of it. That being said I do feel that there were certain gaps in my approach. I tend to get so involved with the ideas in my head that sometimes I skip through the part where I need to put my thoughts on paper. I do believe that I could have worked harder to conduct an in depth analysis of my subject. Furthermore I feel that I should have work towards forming holistic conclusions from my learning instead of just stating facts. I have to make a conscious effort to use design terminologies which was a constant feedback received in all modules. I feel these could have been a barrier to my learning in Term 1, which might not have deprived me of the knowledge but my own understanding. I have to consciously make sure that the mentioned above is not hindering with my learning in Term 2 through constant and conscious efforts. I should focus on taking a factual approach to my analysis from various sources to begin with. Moreover, making a separate forum for all of the design terminologies I have learned and reverting back to them could be some steps to improve my learning approach in the upcoming term.
