"A Good Idea Can Be Invisible To Logic"
- Edward De Bono
For this activity our roles were reversed from being a student to a teacher. We were introduced to 6 Thinking Hats by Edward De Bono. Each group was given a Thinking Hat and was asked to research on it.
WARM UP ACTIVITY
For the warm up activity we were assigned one thinking hat; Yellow Hat. We were divided into groups of 5 wherein my group consisted of Surbhi Jain, Khushi Ahuja, Akshaya Dutt, Suditi Malhotra and myself. We discussed over our assigned Hat and divided our work to research on.

While discussing, we found some similarities between the notion behind the yellow hat and the color yellow. This helped us get a better understanding of the hat.

MAIN ACTIVITY
For the main activity we were assigned one product and we had to use all 6 thinking hat with respect to that product. During the warm up activity each group gave a presented for their hat, which made the concept of thinking hats clear.

The object assigned to us was Alexa; a voice enabled device. We brainstormed through all hats and listed down the needful.

While discussing over the black hat we realized that Alexa required wired connection therefore making it less mobile. We decided to change that feature of the device to make it self operating.

OUTCOME:
Group Achievements:
Time Management was good
Peer learning regarding the concept
Good inputs during discussions
Group Struggles:
None
LEARNING MANTRA
Discussion plays a crucial role in the path of knowledge.
Reflection:
I feel this activity was very relaxing, as it was not too much work jam packed into few hours. Initially my group members and I went off track with the activity as we got indulged in the discussions and research. It was interesting to see what everybody had to put on the table as well as their individual understanding which kept the discussion going for a long time. I really enjoyed the role reversal done which pushed us harder to present with the best content we could. I came to realize that we have been using certain thinking hats even before this activity; how each activity or project requires some degree of management and brainstorming and listing pros and cons. Thinking Hats is a tool which could be extremely useful in the forthcoming design learning and might help us work a little more efficiently and get creative outcomes.
