This Think Lab activity was a continuation to the last activity. We were sensitized to 2 new tools:
Circle of Opportunity
SCAMPER
Like done previously here also we had to use these tools to our chosen object without thinking of a perfect outcome.
Main Activity
We were divided into groups of 4: Shreya Kapoor, Siddhant Garg, Akshaya Dutt and myself. Even though we were put in groups this was an individual activity.
Unlike last time, this time I decided to brainstorm about the chosen product; Lip Balm. I listed everything the eye could see as well as did some research about the origin and manufacturing of the product.

The first thinking tool of today was Circle of Opportunity. Here we had to list the attributes of the product from 1 to 12, like in a clock and tell somebody to choose random numbers. The process of making the wheel was accelerated because of the brainstorming done in the beginning.

I asked my group members as well as my family members to choose any number and eventually chose to take number 12 and 5 being oval shape and added color and reached an outcome.

The second Thinking Tool was SCAMPER: Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to other use, Eliminate and Reverse/Rearrange. The various outcomes have been shown in a small poster below.

OUTCOME:
Group Achievement's:
Every member of the group was willing to help and discuss alternate ideas to each others product
Explaining things when one is stuck related to the functioning of thinking tools.
Group Struggles:
None
Learning Mantra
Enjoy the difficulty, Love the process
Reflection:
My group members and I had a conversation about, when we were younger we were intimidated by how designers have such cool and new ideas and they keep producing more and more. This activity made us realize that these tools when used correctly will break the creative block one has and show them the various outcomes possible. These tools empower our creativity and the only thing left now is to get a grip on these tools to use them in the near future.
