TRACK YOUR JOURNEY
Looking back at my own work from when foundation started to now, I can see the difference in my work, handling material, visualization of 3D form and even techniques. Over the period I have understood and applied the learnt techniques which earlier I might have not known consciously. I have gained an in depth understanding of ranging materials and how each of them function or react with one another. I recently attempted making my F2F final form again and my design decisions and my form came out way neater and polished than it did before.
This is just an evidence of the growth of my understanding. Transform was a project which culminated and required us to applied the earlier gained material knowledge. Keeping in mind that these materials were something I personally have not used before it was intimidating however the outcome was great.
WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN PROCESS

CONNECTING THE DOTS
What learnings from the past were you able to apply during this project
Previous material learning came handy during this project. Various techniques learnt during M2M and One Square Yard like, Braiding, Twisting, Embossing, Burning, Folding, Half Cuts, Crushing, etc. Along with that the form understanding gained through the F2F (Addition and subtraction of form, extrusion of form, etc.) project helped me visualize my explorations as well as the final form even better.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
I feel that sometimes we carry set notions regarding the materials we see around us and label them as material we cannot use. Through this project and previous projects i have gained a better understanding on how anything and everything has the potential to be a raw material for any artwork or form. Initially I was intimidated by the though of working with materials as i had no prior knowledge or skills but through the series of projects I have gained confidence in myself and gained insights about ranging material's. Along with that I have also learned to give my 2D ideation a 3D form through various techniques and materials.
I struggled a lot with Resin in this project and I really wanted to make a form out of it, however that did not happen but left me with a drive to keep trying till i get the desired result. Similarly during the F2F project I faced difficulties with POP as decided to make my final form using the same as a challenge and I feel I did justice to it. My final form for Transform was made out of jute rope which I didn't even plan on. I did not see the potential of the material until I actually started working with it.
